Jasan, Agra. The team of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) is going to test the metro from Bijli Ghar Chauraha to ISBT on Tuesday. The metro will run at a speed of five to 10 km per hour in the five km long track. This on-line testing will last for two months. After the test, half a dozen teams will check the track, signals and others.
The first corridor of the metro is 14 km long from TDI Mall Fatehabad to Sikandra Tiraha. The six km long primary section was commissioned one and a half years ago. This is from TDI Mall to Bijli Ghar Chauraha. It has three elevated and three underground stations. A five km long track has been built from power station intersection to ISBT. It has four underground and one elevated track.
The work of ISBT station is the final phase. An important meeting of the UPMRC team was held on Monday. Lucknow officials also participated in it. It was decided in the meeting that the metro will be tested from Bijli Ghar Chauraha to ISBT on Tuesday morning. Initially the metro will run at five km per hour, then its speed will be increased to 90 km per hour.
