Trump created 'Peace Council' to prevent wars and conflicts (Photo- Reuters)
Reuters, Washington. To prevent wars and conflicts in the world through diplomacy, US President Donald Trump had announced the formation of a Peace Council (Board of Peace) while making public a 20-point plan for a ceasefire in Gaza in September 2025. But this announcement is now being implemented.
There is an indication that this peace of Trump will work like the Security Council of the United Nations. The tenure of the country becoming a member of this council will be three years. The member country which contributes one billion dollars each in these three years for the activities of the Council will be given permanent membership of the Council.
The complete rules of the Peace Council have not yet been made public, but international affairs experts believe that Trump plans to operate this council like the United Nations Security Council.
Diplomats believe that the Peace Council will reduce the influence of the United Nations in the world. The council will also administer Trump's 20-point peace plan for Gaza.
These 20 points include the deployment of international peacekeeping forces in Gaza, taking weapons from Hamas there, making Gaza a terror-free zone and rebuilding Gaza by removing the destruction caused by the Israeli attack.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, US Ambassador Steve Witcalf, Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and World Bank President Ajay Banga, New York businessman Mark Rowan and US National Security Advisor Robert Gabriel have been named in the executive committee of the Peace Council.
On Thursday, in Davos city of Switzerland, Trump participated in the ceremony of formation of the Peace Council on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.
