Heavy Vehicles Going To Delhi Will Be Banned From Today, 3000 Policemen Deployed; Blocks Will Be Installed At 25 Places In Gurugram

There will be a ban on goods vehicles going to Delhi from today.

Jagran correspondent, Gurugram. Preparations have started in the district for Republic Day. Gurugram Police has also made elaborate security arrangements. More than three thousand policemen will take charge of the security arrangements on Republic Day.

In view of the full dress rehearsal of Republic Day, there will be a ban on goods vehicles going to Delhi from 5 pm on Thursday. Traffic will become normal after 1.30 pm on Friday. Blocks will be installed at more than 25 places in the district to stop vehicles and make security arrangements.

Republic Day will be celebrated with great pomp and joy on Monday. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will attend the event to be held at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurugram as the chief guest. The police is already prepared to ensure that unruly elements do not create any disturbance on this day.

Police officials have given guidelines to all the policemen from security point of view. It was told that along with zonal police, traffic police personnel will also be deployed at various places on the highway. Policemen in plain clothes will keep an eye on the activities happening in the city.

This time, due to the Chief Minister attending the Republic Day, the security of the stadium is already being tightened. Additional police force will be deployed at the identified places including three layer security arrangements, traffic route diversion at the venue of the ceremony.

Exemption from ban on vehicles carrying essential goods

DCP Traffic Dr. Rajesh Mohan said that there will be a full dress rehearsal in Delhi on January 23 for Republic Day. For this, entry of heavy goods carrying vehicles into Delhi will be prohibited. All heavy goods vehicles will not be able to enter Delhi border from 5 pm on Thursday to 1.30 pm on Friday. Heavy vehicles will be removed from KMP.

During this period, only vehicles carrying essential commodities like milk, fruits, vegetables, ambulance, fire brigade etc. have been exempted. There will be no restriction on airport going passenger vehicles while going towards Delhi from NH 48. The entry of heavy goods vehicles into Delhi from National Highway 48 and other countries will be completely closed.
