Trump has said that India has substantially reduced its trade and energy ties with Russia at his request. According to Trump, this move is part of his strategy to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

In a recent address, President Trump said, "I have a wonderful relationship with India. India was getting oil from Russia, but at my request they have significantly reduced their ties to Russia. We want to end a terrible war that is killing about 25,000 people every month."
Trump stressed that his close friendship with Prime Minister Modi has played an important role in global diplomacy and India's move is a major change towards peacekeeping.
India-Pakistan war stopped by threat of 200% tariff
Trump made a big revelation not only about Russia but also about the tension between India and Pakistan. He claimed that he prevented a possible war between the two countries through economic pressure.
Use of economic weapon: Trump said, "I stopped the war between India and Pakistan. I told them clearly - 'If you want to fight, fine, but then you will not be able to trade with America. I will impose 200% tariff on both the countries'."
