Two Friends Deported From Austria Turned Bus And Trolley Into Food Point, Set A New Example Of Courage

Jagran correspondent, Kapurthala. After America, now due to increasing strictness of immigration rules in Europe also, the word 'deport' has become a topic of discussion among Punjabis. Many youths go into depression after being deported, but there are some who take adverse circumstances as the basis of their new beginning and bring their lives back on track.

Two youths of Kapurthala, Jaspreet Singh Ghumman, resident of Noorpur Januhan and Paramjeet Singh alias Sonu, resident of Kot Gobindpur, have become such examples. These youth, who returned after being deported from Austria three months ago, have started two unique startups by changing the negative word into a positive identity. Jaspreet has developed a double-decker bus into an on-wheel food point by naming it ‘EU Deported Pizza Wala’.

Sitting facilities have been made on the upper floor of the bus and a kitchen has been made below. This bus will operate near Chowpatty on Mall Road, Kapurthala from the new year of 2026. On the other hand, Paramjit Singh Sonu has converted the farm tractor-trolley into a food point named ‘Austria Deported Pizza Wala’, which will be seen near Mansoorwal on Jalandhar-Kapurthala road. Sonu has started operating his startup from January 10.

Explain why you chose the word 'deport'

While talking to Dainik Jagran, Jaspreet said that inspired by the names like MBA Chai Wala and Physics Wala, he made the word 'Deport' his identity. After returning to India after being out of the country from Europe, he prepared this double decker food point by spending about Rs 17 lakh with the help of his family. He was involved in food delivery in Austria, whose experience is now being used in new business also.

Decided to become self-reliant upon returning to India

At the same time, Paramjit told that lakhs of rupees had been spent in going to Europe, hence he decided to become self-reliant as soon as he returned to India. Both the youth said that instead of giving up after being deported, by relying on skills and working hard, a new path opens up in life. He gave a message to other youth that instead of getting disappointed, recognize their skills and move forward.
