threatening false criminal cases
According to DCP Crime Branch Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, this syndicate was active as two separate gangs. One gang worked under the leadership of Zeeshan Ali and the other under the leadership of Rajkumar Meena. Both the gangs used to secretly record videos of traffic policemen while issuing challans or checking documents, later manipulate those videos and extort huge amounts of money by threatening them with departmental inquiry, suspension, vigilance action or false criminal cases.
Extortion from traffic police was the main business
The case was registered on April 29 when a commercial vehicle driver tried to get exemption from the challan by showing a fake 'March 3' sticker. During the investigation, this organized crime syndicate was exposed by examining the WhatsApp groups of the driver. This gang also cheated commercial vehicle drivers and owners and ran the main business of extortion from the traffic police. Zeeshan Ali is considered the main mastermind.
