Communication Assistant, Dumraon (Buxar). Sometimes life takes away everything in an instant. The house where auspicious songs were resonating, where the preparations for Tilak were in the final stages and where there was a lot of happiness, within a few hours there was shouting, silence and mourning in the same house.

A horrific road accident that occurred early on Sunday morning on Patna-Buxar National Highway-922 took the lives of four people of the same family of Kritsagar village. This accident was not just the end of four lives, but also the end of the dreams, future and happiness of an entire family.

The journey of faith became the last journey

On Sunday morning, Sujit Kumar Pandey, resident of Kritsagar village, had set out towards Buxar in Alto car UP 65 PG 8620. Along with him, his brother SSB jawan Omkar Pandey and both aunts Girija Devi and Manju Devi were also present.

Everyone was going to take a bath in the Ganga on the occasion of Magh Purnima. This journey was full of faith, belief and joy, but destiny had something else in store.

There was dense fog near Chanda village under Naya Bhojpur police station of Dumraon sub-division area. According to police sources, his car was following a trailer moving ahead. Then another trailer laden with sand, coming at a high speed, hit it hard from behind.

The blow was so severe that the car got badly crushed between the two trailers present at the front and rear. In the accident, three people traveling in the car died on the spot, while one was seriously injured. The injured was brought to Sadar Hospital Buxar, where doctors declared him dead.

Heartbreaking cry at home before marriage

In this tragic accident, the deceased have been identified as SSB jawan Omkar Pandey, resident of Kritsagar village of Krishnabrahma police station area, his real brother Sujit Kumar Pandey, first aunt Girija Devi, wife of Arun Tiwari, resident of Nenua village of Dumraon police station area and second aunt Manju Devi, resident of Bharkhara village of Brahmapur police station area.

Omkar Pandey had come home after taking leave for his sister Manisha's wedding. Tilak was fixed for Monday and marriage date was fixed for 8th February.

There was a coming and going of relatives in the house, the courtyard was resonating with laughter and auspicious songs, but a day before Tilakotsav, the decision of taking Magh Snan came as such a curse that the house full of happiness was destroyed in a moment.

Children became orphans, family support lost

SSB jawan Omkar Pandey was the eldest among his four siblings. He is survived by his wife, three daughters and a son. The wife is in a bad condition, crying, while the empty eyes of the children seem to be asking only one question to every passer-by: What will happen to us now?

Whereas younger brother Sujit Kumar Pandey was working in a private company in Gujarat. He was married only last year and his life ended at the very beginning of his married life. Now only the youngest brother Pawan Kumar and sister Manisha are left in this family. Now even the stove was not lit in the house where the Tilak rituals were to take place. There is silence in the streets of the village and every eye is moist.

Police investigating on many points

After the accident, the trailer driver who was moving ahead fled along with the vehicle, while the trailer driver who was hit from behind ran away leaving the vehicle on the road.

Naya Bhojpur police station incharge Chandan Kumar said that the police is investigating the matter and the search for the absconding drivers is going on. This accident once again warns of the dangerous consequences of high speed, dense fog and carelessness, but for this family of Kritsagar village, this is not just a road accident, but a wound which will probably never heal.
