Two Sentenced To Life Imprisonment In Rampur Double Murder Case, Fine Of Rs 80 Thousand Also Imposed

Jagran correspondent, Rampur. District Judge Bhanudev Sharma has sentenced two people to life imprisonment in the double murder case that took place three years ago in Civil Lines area. A fine of Rs 80 thousand has also been imposed. The murder incident took place on July 8, 2023 in Mansoorpur village of Civil Lines Kotwali area.

Under the bridge of Kosi river on the highway, Kallu Shah of Mansoorpur village and Murtaza Ali of Niamatpur Ikatoria village of Mundhapande police station of Moradabad were beaten with sticks by some people. He was killed by attacking him with a sickle. The deceased and the murder accused were all drinking sulpha there. There was a dispute between them regarding money transactions.

An FIR for murder was lodged by Afroz Ali, son of deceased Kallu Shah, in which Saddam, Satveer of Mansoorpur village and Irfan of Sahariya village were named. Police had removed Irfan's name during investigation. The charge sheet against Satveer and Saddam was sent to the court. During the hearing of the case, the defense lawyers said that both of them have been falsely implicated. The prosecution presented 14 witnesses and several pieces of evidence.

District government advocate Amit Kumar Saxena said that witnesses and evidence have proved the incident. After hearing both the sides, the Sessions Judge Court sentenced both of them to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 40,000 each.
