PTI, New Delhi. The Union Cabinet, in its first meeting at the new Prime Minister's Office (PMO) complex 'Seva Tirtha' on Tuesday, resolved that every decision taken here will be inspired by the spirit of 'Nagrik Devo Bhava' and will be central to the empowerment of every Indian.
In the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it was also decided that every effort of the government driven by Seva Teerth will be towards simplifying the life of the last person of the country.
According to the 'Service Resolution Proposal', every decision taken in the new building will be inspired by the spirit of service towards the 140 crore countrymen and will be linked to the broader goal of nation-building. It has been said in the proposal that this place will not be a center for display of power, but for the empowerment of every Indian.
It has been mentioned that it is necessary to make the governance transparent, accountable and conscious of the sensitivities of the citizens. This spirit has been enshrined in the work culture of Seva Teerth in the proposal, where every policy will be in accordance with the basic spirit of the Constitution and every decision will be responsive to the aspirations of the countrymen.
It has been said that this meeting and this building is a clear expression of the reconstruction of a new India. It says - 'We dreamed of an India whose thinking was indigenous, its form was modern and its potential was infinite.
Today, this Sevatirtha is the embodiment of the same concept, which will enhance the pride of India as the mother of democracy.' On this occasion, the Cabinet also remembered the history of this place, which was built on the site of temporary barracks during the British rule.
The resolution states that before the period of slavery, India was known as a nation known for its physical grandeur and human values. The concept of Sevatirtha is a combination of these two ideals.
The resolution said that the decisions taken under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have given new clarity to the objective of governance. The Cabinet also said that with the new energy of Seva Tirtha and the fast pace of 'Reform Express', the resolve to place India among the top three economies of the world will be fulfilled.
