These groups have been formed by the department at all sub-centre levels so that information about the flow of electricity can be provided to the consumers. After this arrangement, the sub-centre staff along with the consumers are feeling relieved. In case of supply disruption, the number of mobile calls from consumers complaining about them has reduced.
This arrangement has been made at all the power sub-stations of the district on the instructions of the senior officials of the department. Such arrangements have been made at all the power sub-stations of 33-11 KVA capacity in the district. It has also been done at 10 other sub-centres including Civil Line, Shahbad Gate, Nawab Gate, Fort of the city.
Mobile numbers of consumers of the area have been added to these WhatsApp groups so that supply related information can be shared in the group and everyone can be made aware of it. Now the consumers connected to the sub-centres have started getting this information on mobile WhatsApp group. On these groups, officers and employees of the department have started giving information about the arrival and interruption of power supply.
On Thursday, a message was shared on the WhatsApp group of Civil Lines at 11 am in which it was said that the shutdown was done to oil the transformer installed in the yard at the Civil Lines sub-centre.
Due to this, supply to 15 areas including Station Road, BP Colony, Ardash Colony, Krishna Colony, Radha Road, Nainital Road, Awas Vikas Colony, Gangapur, Ekta Vihar, Ramnath Colony was disrupted for one hour. When the supply became normal after a quarter of an hour, this message was also sent to the group.
This arrangement has provided relief to both the consumers and the officers and employees of the department. Consumers get information about why the supply has been disrupted and for how long. After this information, consumers do not feel the need to make mobile calls to the sub-centre staff and officials in case of supply disruption like before.
When the call is short, the employees keep doing their other work. Executive Engineer Anurag Singh said that this arrangement has been made at all the sub-centres on the instructions of the officials so that consumers do not have to worry about the supply. Supply of Dungarpur power sub-centre was disrupted for three hours. Rampur: Testing work of transformer etc. was done in Dugarpur sub-centre on Thursday. Due to this, supply to the consumers of the area was disrupted from 11 am to 2 pm. Here, the consumers of the area also faced problems due to interruption in the supply of hill gate feeder in the morning and evening. Today the supply to the fort sub-station will be disrupted. Rampur: On Friday, the supply to the power sub-station located at the fort will be disrupted from 2 pm to 5 pm. During this period, department work will be done in the sub-centre premises. Due to this, the supply to Shadab Market, Fish Market, Miston Ganj and Pan Dariba etc. will be disrupted for three hours.
