Jagran correspondent, Shamli. Duplicate voters have been found in the ongoing voter verification in view of the three-tier Panchayat elections-2026. The names of all these have been removed from the voter list. The verification work of 1.78 lakh voters in the list potentially sent by the State Election Commission has been completed. The final voter list will be published on February 6.
Voter verification campaign is being conducted at three levels in the district. These include Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, second is the work of revision of the voter list in preparation for the three-tier Panchayat elections. BLOs have done most of the work in this, but currently the work of data compilation and feeding is going on.
The work of voter verification for the Third Legislative Council Teacher Constituency is going on. According to ADO Panchayat Jaswant Singh, the State Election Commission had sent the data of 1 lakh 78 thousand 764 potential candidates to the district elections for the three-tier Panchayat elections, in which the verification work has been completed. In this, 1 lakh 35 thousand 399 voters were found correct, but 43 thousand 365 voters were found duplicate.
