UP Weather Update: Fog.

Jagran Team, Lucknow. The Meteorological Department has also issued a red alert of extremely dense fog in more than 40 districts from east to west on Saturday and Sunday. The weather is getting ready for another change after the western disturbance became active over the high Himalayan mountains. The presence of dense fog and clouds continued since morning on Friday also. When the sun set after 1 o'clock in the afternoon, the day temperature increased by 2.2 degrees in 24 hours, but the day temperature still remains 6.2 degrees below normal. On Friday, the speed of south-west wind was also up to six km per hour.

Extreme cold day warning for 40 districts

Extreme cold day warning has also been issued for about 40 districts including Terai and eastern UP. According to senior meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh, two western disturbances are becoming active in UP since Sunday, due to which the day temperature may increase by two to three degrees from Monday. There will be a slight decrease in the density of fog after three days.

Meteorologist Dr. SN Sunil Pandey said that the cold wind will gradually increase now. There are chances of a cold day on Saturday. Cold day conditions are created when the maximum day temperature falls 4.5-6.4 degrees below normal and falls below 10 degrees centigrade.

Frost will start falling during winter days

Mountain-like cold wind has started blowing in Kanpur since Friday evening. Due to sunshine in the afternoon, the maximum temperature of the day increased from 15.3 degrees to 17.5 on Friday, but after the cold wind started blowing, the Meteorological Department has now issued a warning of cold day on Saturday. On Friday, the minimum temperature at the Air Force station was 9.2 and the maximum temperature was 19 degrees Celsius.

Western disturbance active, but no relief expected

Dr. SN Pandey said that between 20th and 23rd December, a new western disturbance is becoming active which will affect the Western Himalayas. During this period, wind speed will remain very low in Kanpur and surrounding areas. Fog will persist due to lack of strong wind. Due to which dense fog will persist for the next three to four days.
