Samvad Sutra, Heempur Deepa (Bijnor). During the preparations for Jalabhishek on Mahashivratri, the police forcibly removed the Shiva idol being kept in the Chamunda Devi temple in village Naipura. Amidst the uproar, the villagers, hurt by the incident, have warned the police administration that if the removed Shiva idol is not installed in the Chamunda Devi temple within a week, then there will be conversion from the village in protest. In view of the tension in the village, police force has been deployed.
Along with Muslim community, people of Pal and Valmiki etc. communities live in village Naipura of the area. There is about 40 years old Chamunda Devi temple inside the village. In which the family including Maa Durga Shivling is established. The villagers were making preparations to celebrate Mahashivratri festival.
The villagers were reinstalling the old Shiva idol installed in the Chamunda Devi temple on Saturday night after getting it repaired. Meanwhile, Rakesh's relatives from the same family informed the police on dial 112, protesting against keeping the Shiva idol in the Chamunda Devi temple.
Due to which CO Desh Deepak Chandpur, Inspector in-charge Jai Bhagwan reached the village with the police force. Who got the Shiva idol kept by the villagers in Chamunda Devi temple removed and kept the said idol covered with foil in a bogie at neighbor Rajesh's house. As a result, there was an uproar for a long time regarding the removal of the statue. Villagers from the other side, Tejpal, Suresh, Narpal, Sanjay Pal, Santram, Sandeep, Pritam, Malkhan and Pradeep etc. expressed deep anger over the role of the police.
Villagers like Jyoti, Bhagesh Devi, Taro Devi, Manju Devi, Kranti, Naresh Devi, Guddi, Mahendri, Sanjay Pal, Kapil and Jagroop present in the case on Sunday allege that the police, in league with the other party, has forcibly removed the idol from them. Whereas Jalabhishek and worship has been taking place at the said temple for last 40 years. He was re-installing the damaged Shiva idol in the Chamunda Devi temple after repairing it. He said that if the Shiva idol removed from the Chamunda Devi temple was not reinstalled within a week, he would convert and flee the village. Whose responsibility will be of the district administration.
Hemendra, Omwati's wife Rakesh etc. from the other party say that they have no objection to the Chamunda Devi temple but people from the other party were taking a new initiative by placing a Shiva idol in the said temple. Which he is against.
In the incident, CO Desh Deepak has denied forcibly removing the Shiva idol from the Chamunda Devi temple by the Chandpur Police. He says that the villagers were trying to create a new tradition by bringing the Shiva idol from somewhere and placing it in the Chamunda Devi temple. The complaining villagers have themselves removed the said statue. He told that if the villagers want to install the idol in Chamunda Devi temple then they will have to take permission from the district administration.
