Jagran correspondent, Haldwani. The torture of winter is not ready to subside. People are getting some relief during the day due to sunshine in the hilly areas, but in the plains everyone is suffering due to the cold wave. The farewell to the year 2025 also took place with a chill.

Due to absence of Sun God for the third consecutive day, severe cold and fog continued. Melting caused a lot of trouble to the people of Terai-Bhabar. At the same time, on Wednesday morning, the sails were felt falling as if it was light drizzle.

The maximum temperature in Haldwani and surrounding areas was recorded at 15.4 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 10.8 degrees Celsius. Here, the new year has arrived from today. But even at the beginning of the year, there is no hope of respite from the cold outbreak.

According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, the cold wave may persist along with fog in the plains of Kumaon till January 4. In such a situation, people may have to face many problems due to dry cold. At the same time, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in the hilly areas till January 2.
