Jagran correspondent, Bareilly. Last year, cyber thugs had defrauded IVRI scientist Dr. Sukdev Nandi of Rs 1.29 crore. Cyber ​​police station had arrested nine people in this case. Other wanted persons were being searched. When the police reached the house of an accused resident of Lucknow to raid, a constable posted in CO III office informed him due to which he absconded.

When the SSP conducted a departmental inquiry into the matter, the accused constable was found guilty. Along with imposing a fine, action has been taken against him to stop his promotion for one year. According to the police, from June 17 to June 20, scientist Dr. Sukdev Nandi was kept under digital arrest by cyber thugs. By threatening them, they got Rs 1.29 crore transferred within three days.

When he realized that he was cheated, an FIR was lodged in the cyber police station. According to the bank accounts, the police started searching for the accused and arrested nine people and sent them to jail. Meanwhile, a company from Lucknow in which the transaction was done first. Police collected information about that account and found out that the owner of the company is Pradeep Singh.

Anup Mishra and another are partners in the same company. After sending Pradeep to jail, the police started searching for Sandeep Anoop Mishra. It was revealed that Anup Mishra is the brother of constable Sandeep Kumar posted in CO III office. Therefore, cyber station in-charge Dinesh Sharma sought Sandeep's help to search for him.

Said that information has been received that Anoop Mishra is in his ancestral home in Malikapur, Hardoi. When the police went to arrest him, Sandeep informed about him due to which he absconded. The police suspected that Sandeep had informed him. Because of this he was not caught. When the matter was complained to the SSP, he asked CO Crime Gaurav Singh to investigate the entire incident.

Investigation revealed that Sandeep was leaking departmental information to save his third brother, due to which he could not be arrested yet. In this case, SSP Anurag Arya has imposed a fine equal to 28 days' salary on constable Sandeep. Besides, promotion has also been stopped for one year.

Cyber ​​police station has sent nine accused to jail in the case of cheating a scientist. The search for the remaining accused is ongoing. A constable had leaked information before the arrest of an accused, along with departmental action, a fine has also been imposed against him.
