Violence due to minor dispute, attack with sticks on club and house, tension in the area.
Jagran Correspondent, Asansol: A minor dispute took a violent turn in Burnpur Shyam Dam area of Asansol on Wednesday. It is alleged that people armed with sticks and hoes attacked a local club and also entered a house near the club and assaulted the people living there. According to local people, a woman was traveling by Toto with her child in the afternoon. Meanwhile, a person sprinkled water on the Toto, which led to a dispute with the Toto driver. It is alleged that as the dispute escalated, a woman sitting in the Toto was attacked, in which her child was injured. As soon as information about the incident was received, the woman's acquaintances reached the spot with about 100 to 150 people and attacked the house near a club located in Shyam Bandh area. The attackers vandalized the house and beat up the people present there. This sudden incident created an atmosphere of chaos and tension in the entire area. On receiving the information, police from Hirapur police station reached the spot and controlled the situation. Later the local people also reached Hirapur police station to protest. Considering the seriousness of the situation, the police have deployed additional forces at the incident site. The police is investigating the entire matter and the culprits are being identified.
