American company booked all flights to evacuate employees (Reuters)
Digital Desk, New Delhi. Mexico on Sunday killed notorious drug lord and CJNG leader El Mencho by Mexican Special Forces in a security operation against the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. After which violence broke out in some parts of Mexico, causing large-scale unrest in the country. There was chaos at many of the busiest airports in the country, due to which many flights had to be cancelled. After the violence, movement was disrupted due to traffic jam.
Amidst this uproar, an American tech company helped one of its employees get out of the country safely. Cloud platform company Vercel arranged seats on every available flight from Guadalajara to the US so that its staff could get out safely.
The employee expressed gratitude
Company employee Andrew Barba later praised the extraordinary effort in a post on Barba, who works as a software engineer at the company, said he and his wife were at the airport in Guadalajara when the violence escalated.
As tensions escalated, the couple took refuge in a rest room amid the uncertainty. Internet connectivity was not reliable, many flights were cancelled, and it was unclear when they would be able to leave.
Meanwhile, Versal's leadership team in the United States ramped up the pace. Determined to get out safely, he bought tickets for all the US-bound flights from the airport, hoping to make it through at least one flight. Ultimately his wisdom succeeded. Barba and his wife boarded that flight and reached Texas safely.
After working for the San Francisco-based company for nearly three years, Barba publicly thanked his company for going to great lengths to protect him during these difficult times.

Internet users praised the company and expressed relief over its safe exit from the country. One user wrote that this is leadership. When things get chaotic, you don't want statements. You want action and a backup plan. Glad you are safe.
