Voice Of Youth Echoed In SM College Bhagalpur, Debate Of Logic And Facts In Dainik Jagran Youth Parliament

On behalf of Dainik Jagran, the Youth Parliament was inaugurated on Monday at Sundarvati Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Bhagalpur by lighting the lamp by SS College Principal Dr. Nisha Jha, former Principal Dr. Mukesh Kumar Singh, Syndicate member Dr. Mushfiq Alam, Dr. Anuradha and Dainik Jagran Editor Sandeep Kumar.

Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. On behalf of Dainik Jagran, a big stage of Youth Parliament was organized at Sundarvati Mahila Mahavidyalaya Bhagalpur (SM College Bhagalpur) on Monday. Here the students painted the colors of their intelligence on the canvas of issues. In the Jagran Youth Parliament Debate Competition 2026, the new generation i.e. youth raised the voice of democracy by presenting their views strongly and boldly.

A large number of students participated in the program and presented their views on contemporary issues related to the country and society in a logical and factual manner. During the entire event, the college campus remained a vibrant center of ideological energy, democratic dialogue and intellectual debate.

The participants got an opportunity to express their views for and against. There was great enthusiasm among the participants regarding the topic. The speakers presented their views with facts, examples and constitutional viewpoint. Many participants said that it is not at all appropriate to destabilize the society by bringing the disputes of the past into the present, while some argued that solutions to the problems of the present should be found by learning from history, but it should not be used as a medium for conflict.

Meaningful and vigorous debate on burning issues

During the Youth Parliament, meaningful and vigorous debates took place on topics like caste census, population law, religious freedom, feminism and amendment in the criminal age of minors. The auditorium echoed with applause several times due to the enthusiasm of the participants. In the Youth Parliament held on the first day, Soni Mishra and Rachna Singh of Sundarvati Mahila Mahavidyalaya secured first position. Second place was won by Annu Malika and Anisha Farhat, while third place was won by Mantasha Kumari and Sagupta Praveen.

The jury included Syndicate member Dr. Mushfiq Alam, Dr. Anuradha Prasad and Senior Sub Chief Editor of Dainik Jagran, Alok Kumar Shahi. The judges evaluated the participants on the basis of understanding of the subject, reasoning power, language style, confidence and time management.

Guests increased their respect, started with Ganesh Vandana.

The program started with Ganesh Vandana. Sargam Kumari, student of English Department, presented Ganesh Vandana. After this, Sargam Kumari and Jhanvi Kumari sang the welcome song and greeted the guests and participants. Neha Bharti, student of Hindi department and Deeksha Singh, student of BBA performed the responsibility of running the stage very well.

The competition was formally inaugurated by lighting the lamp by SS College Principal Dr. Nisha Jha, former Principal Dr. Mukesh Kumar Singh, Syndicate member Dr. Mushfiq Alam, Dr. Anuradha and Dainik Jagran Editor Sandeep Kumar. The guests said in their address that youth are the backbone of democracy and the foundation of a strong nation is laid only through healthy discussions. The dignitaries called upon the youth to resolve ideological differences through dialogue and move forward with positive thinking.

Today postgraduate participants will present their views

Tuesday's session at the Youth Parliament will be attended by post-graduate level participants. The best pair among the participants on both the days will be declared the winner. As judges, Assistant Professor Vivek Kumar Hind, Dr. Anuradha Prasad, and Senior Sub Chief Editor of Dainik Jagran Alok Kumar Shahi will test their intellectual ability.

Let us tell you that the objective of Dainik Jagran Youth Parliament is not just a competition, but to connect the youth with the democratic process and inspire them to play an active role in nation building. The Youth Parliament Debate Competition organized at SM College is not only an intellectual platform for the youth but is also an opportunity for them to raise their voice and take inspiration to imbibe democratic values.
