Nephew and another accused of murder of an old woman are in the custody of Hazara police station of Puranpur. Source Police Department
Communication Associate, Puranpur. The old woman was murdered by her own brother-in-law's son, along with a young man who worked as a laborer in the house, out of greed for property. The accused was considering it a rivalry over the possibility of giving the property to the adopted daughter. The police arrested both of them. After being produced in the court, he was sent to jail.
The dead body of Kamaljeet Kaur, a resident of Sidhnagar village of Hazara police station area, was found lying on the cot on Saturday night. Blood was coming out of his mouth. There were injury marks on the face. Daughter Ranjit Kaur and son-in-law Harsimran Singh had gone to attend a wedding ceremony in the village itself. She was alone in the house.
During police investigation, a cap was found lying near the dead body of the woman which belonged to Vijay Kumar Kamboj, resident of Khanpur Tehsil Gadarpur District Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. In the post-mortem report, the woman was found to have died due to rupture of a vein in her head due to strangulation.
On the basis of Harsimran Singh's complaint, the police started investigation by filing an FIR against Vijay and an unknown accused for systematically murdering the woman. Police arrested Vijay and Sarvjit Singh alias Billu, son of the woman's brother-in-law. During interrogation, the accused told that Tai Kamaljeet Kaur had no son or daughter.
For this reason he adopted his niece Ranjit Kaur in her childhood itself. After her marriage, Ranjit Kaur's husband started living at home as her son-in-law. There was a fear that Tai would transfer all the property in the name of son-in-law Harsimran Singh. Due to greed for property, when he got a chance with Vijay Kumar in a planned manner, he strangulated her to death. He ran away after the incident.
Billu was jailed for the murder of a bullion trader.
In the year 2014, a bullion trader in Puranpur was shot dead by some miscreants in his shop in the evening. Jewelery worth lakhs of rupees was looted. Sarvjeet Singh Billu's name also came to light in the unveiling of the incident. The police had sent the accused to jail.
Vijay was working as a laborer at Billu's house.
Billu, accused of Tai's murder, has arrived at the government residence. Vijay was working as a laborer in the construction of a house at his house. While living together, both of them planned the murder. Billu lured Vijay by giving him money and land. As soon as Kamaljeet Kaur's daughter and son-in-law were attending the wedding, the accused entered the house and killed the woman.
The woman was strangled to death by her own brother-in-law's son along with his laborer over a property dispute. Both were arrested and sent to jail.
