State Bureau, Bhopal. State Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Deora will present the budget for the year 2026-27 in the Assembly on Wednesday. In this, emphasis will be on city, village, industry, health and agricultural development. There is no possibility of increasing the direct tax burden on the public but the government will definitely make efforts to increase the income.

For this, the tax system will be improved at the tourism, urban body and panchayat levels with emphasis on increasing the collection of outstanding taxes. The budget is likely to be more than Rs 4.5 lakh crore.

According to sources, there is little possibility of any new announcement in the budget. Actually, the share of central taxes has decreased. The recommendations of the 16th Finance Commission will come into effect from April 1, 2026. According to this, Madhya Pradesh will get Rs 7,726 crore less. This means that the state government will work with hindrance. Ladli Brahmin is being given Rs 1,500 per month. Now a provision of Rs 22 thousand crore can be kept for this.

About 42 percent of the budget will be spent on salaries, allowances and interest grants. Provision for Vikas Bharat Ji Ram Ji Yojana will be increased along with taking forward the tap water scheme and continuing the electricity bill subsidy. It is possible to announce the scheme of CM Health Care and mid-day meal for the treatment of serious diseases and providing milk in triple packs in Anganwadis.

Government will increase capital expenditure

The way the government is increasing capital expenditure for infrastructure development, this sequence will be continued in the coming financial year also. For this, capital expenditure can be increased from Rs 85 thousand crore to Rs 95 thousand crore. The biggest challenge of the government is to increase income. For this, some amount will be raised through excise. This time, there is a preparation to auction liquor shops in small groups by increasing the rate by 20 percent. This policy is likely to be approved soon. Considering the possibility of revenue growth in the mineral sector, innovations can be announced including speeding up auction of mines, taking forward the digital process.

There will be increase in dearness allowance and relief

Sources say that even if the government does not announce increase in dearness allowance of employees and dearness relief of pensioners in the budget, provision will be made for it. More than three thousand Anganwadis, upgradation of hospitals, new Sandipani schools can be announced.

More than two and a half thousand crores amount for Simhastha

A provision of more than four thousand crore rupees can be made in the budget for Simhastha to be held in 2028. Two thousand crore rupees were kept in the last budget. Funds will also be kept for Krishna Patheya.

MLAs will get tablets

The Assembly Secretariat will give tablets to the MLAs. The budget will be uploaded in this. The Assembly Secretariat is providing tablets under the e-Vidhan project. The Deputy Chief Minister will also read the budget speech by looking at the tablet. To approve the budget speech, a cabinet meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at 10 am in the assembly office.
