Waste-to-Wonder Theme Park Will Become A Platform For Heritage And Culture, DM Inspected Rajendra Prasad-JP Samadhi Sthal

Patna DM Dr. Thyagarajan SM inspected the ongoing development works in the district. He also informed about the Waste-to-Wonder Theme Park (Bihar Gaurav) being built near Bansghat.

Jagran correspondent, Patna. DM Dr. Thiagarajan SM on Tuesday inspected the site of ongoing developmental and public welfare works in the district. In this sequence, he took information about the progress of construction works of Deshratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad Bihar Gaurav Udyan (Waste to Wonder Theme Park), Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan Samadhi Sthal, JP Ganga Path Samagra Udyan, Vicharan Path from Civilization Gate to Collectorate Ghat and Patna Haat, which is being developed as a new platform for Bihar's heritage and culture near Bansghat. He instructed the officials and engineers to ensure quality and timely work.

Bihar Gaurav Udyan will be built between Deshratna's Samadhi and JP Ganga Path.

The DM first inspected the site at Dujra Diara Mauza for the construction of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Samadhi. A mausoleum will be constructed on 1.75 acres between JP Ganga Path and Waste to Wonder Theme Park. After this, he marked 10 acres of land for the Waste to Wonder Theme Park to be built between the Samadhi site of Deshratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad and JP Ganga Path.

Its foundation stone was laid by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on 6 August 2025. DM said that various forms of historical, cultural and inspirational heritage of Bihar will be displayed in a modern and creative form in this park. In this, inspirational stories of great personalities of Bihar from Aryabhatta, Chanakya, Emperor Ashoka to Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan and Dashrath Manjhi will be quoted.

The architecture of Bihar like Nalanda, Vikramshila, stupas, temples and tombs will also be displayed in the park. There will also be arrangements for food and drink for tourists and a playground. This entire park will be based on the concept of Waste to Wonder where iron scrap will be converted into living art.

Apart from this, a grand memorial complex will be constructed in the memory of Deshratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad at his present memorial site. Near the Samadhi site at Bans Ghat is the Samadhi site of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan. The District Magistrate directed the Circle Officer to take immediate action so that BUDCO can start its construction.

Both sides of JP Ganga Path from Digha to Gandhi Maidan will be picturesque.

On August 25, the Chief Minister had laid the foundation stone of 7 km long JP Ganga Path Comprehensive Garden Project (Phase-1) on both sides of JP Ganga Path between Digha to Gandhi Maidan on the banks of river Ganga at a cost of Rs 387.40 crore. Besides, the foundation stone of the walking path from Civilization Gate to Collectorate Ghat was also laid at a cost of Rs 12.38 crore.

JP Ganga Path Samagra Udyan Project (Phase-1) Open green area will be developed and basic facilities will be provided. Construction of a walking path from Civilization Gate to Collectorate Ghat (Ganga Research Centre) will not only make it easier for the tourists coming to the morning walk but will also make it easier for the tourists coming to Ganga Ghat to visit the Ganga Research Center and Museum. The road to reach Chhath Ghat will be easy. The office of the Deputy Superintendent of Traffic Police will be shifted elsewhere for the construction of Patna Haat near Gandhi Maidan.
