'We will take revenge of history by strengthening the country in every way', NSA Ajit Doval
PTI, New Delhi. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Saturday said that India will have to strengthen itself not only on the borders but in every way, so that the painful history of attacks and subjugation can be avenged.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the "Developed India Youth Leadership Dialogue", Doval mentioned the struggles and sacrifices of freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose and Bhagat Singh.
Addressing three thousand youth representatives from across the country, the former Director of Intelligence Bureau said - You are lucky that you were born in independent India. I was born in slave India. Our ancestors struggled for freedom and faced countless difficulties. People like Bhagat Singh were hanged, Subhash Chandra Bose struggled all his life and Mahatma Gandhi had to do Satyagraha for us, only then we got freedom.
The NSA said that the word retaliation is not a good one, but it can be a great power in itself. We have to avenge our history and take the country back to a point where it becomes great again not only in terms of border security but also in economy, social development… every aspect.
Describing the attendees at the event as leaders of the future, Doval stressed the need for strong leadership, as demonstrated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said-Napoleon once said that I am not afraid of 1000 lions led by one sheep, but I am afraid of 1000 sheep led by one lion. Leadership is that important.
He said that we were a progressive society. We did not attack other civilizations or their temples, but we were not conscious in terms of security. Therefore history taught us a lesson.
Further asked, have we learned that lesson? It is important that we remember that lesson, because if young people forget it, it will be tragic for the country. Every conflict in the world arises out of security concerns.
He said why does conflict occur? It is not that people are psychopaths and enjoy seeing dead bodies. Rather, it happens because you want to subjugate the enemy country for your own security and force it to accept your terms.
Look at all the struggles going on in the world right now. It is all about imposing one's own conditions on another country for security. Therefore we also have to protect ourselves. It is a powerful feeling. We should take inspiration from this.
