Jagran correspondent, Mathura. Cold's attitude has become aggressive. There may not have been fog today, but the haze remained in the atmosphere till afternoon. Sun God also remained hidden in the clouds. The sun came out in the afternoon, but the sun remained ineffective. Due to the unbearable cold, the children hid in their homes as the evening approached. Elderly women and men are facing the most difficulty in cold weather. Bonfires and heaters kept burning in homes during the day. Due to burning of room heater the electricity load also increased. Due to this, electricity kept tripping several times a day.
Minimum temperature was 11 degrees Celsius, silence in the market after 8 pm
There has been continuous fog for about a week. For three days, there was fog on the roads after 8 pm, which lasted till noon the next day. The weather remained cold on Sunday night. The cold was unbearable for the passengers at the railway station and bus stand. People kept shivering even while travelling. On Monday morning, when people woke up from their sleep and went out, the fog was missing. But, the fog persisted till afternoon. Dew was dripping from the sky. People were shivering due to melting. The weather became normal after 11 am. The Sun God came out, but the sun was not bright.
Load on transformers increased due to running of room heater, power tripping several times a day
Due to no wind, the feeling of cold was less during the day. But, the difficulties of those traveling in two-wheelers were no less. People were seen shivering from cold. After six in the evening the cold started becoming severe again. People started feeling cold due to melting at eight o'clock in the night. Warm caps were placed on the head and clothes were adorned on the body. At nine in the night the cold became aggressive. People appeared hurt by the cold.
The minimum temperature during the day was recorded at 11 and maximum at 21. There is a possibility of fog on Tuesday. In winter, bonfires and heaters have started burning in homes. Due to this, electricity consumption has also increased. Due to this the power supply is also tripping. Due to severe cold, shops have started closing after 8 pm. Customers are also visible less.
Increased demand for electric kettles and heaters
With the onset of cold weather becoming aggressive, the sale of electrical goods providing relief has increased. Some are buying a kettle to make hot water and some are buying a room heater. Due to this, the faces of the shopkeepers are looking bright.

Increased demand for wood and coal
The consumption of wood and coal for lighting bonfires has increased during the cold season. Timber is being sold at Rs 800 per quintal. People are also buying coal. A load of frame wood is available for Rs 100.
