Apart from this, Chaturmas will be from 25th July to 20th November. Due to the sleeping period of Lord Vishnu in Chaturmas, marriages and other auspicious functions will not take place. According to Vedic astrology, the rising of Sun, Jupiter and Venus is necessary for marriage. If any one of these is set or in an inauspicious position then the marriage will not be auspicious.

Marriage ceremonies will take place from 4th February to 14th March. This time the Sun moved from Sagittarius to Capricorn and at 9:39 pm on January 14 it became Uttarayan.
