Indian Railways took initiative, passengers will get great relief.
Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. Indian Railways: Migrant passengers returning home on Holi festival have to face a lot of trouble every year due to heavy crowd and shortage of trains. Long queues for tickets at stations, crowding on platforms and the problem of not getting space in trains become common. This time, in view of this problem of passengers, Railways has started preparations to provide relief. More than two dozen Holi special trains have been planned to operate for Bhagalpur and surrounding districts.
According to the proposed plan of Railways, these special trains will be operated between 12th to 19th February. Its objective is to control the chaos at stations during the festival and to provide smooth travel to the passengers. On the occasion of Holi, a large number of migrants return to their homes from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Surat, Ahmedabad and other big cities. In such a situation, passengers are expected to get a lot of relief due to increase in the number of trains.
Malda Railway Division officials have intensified preparations for effective operation of special trains. Opinions have been sought from station directors, area officers and station superintendents to assess which routes have more passenger pressure and where additional trains are required. Routes will be decided based on the number of passengers, ticket sales and past experiences, so that people can get maximum benefit from the trains.
Railway officials believe that by timely announcement and operation of special trains, passengers can be saved from unnecessary troubles. If the trains operate as per the plan, the crowding in trains during the festival season will be reduced to a great extent. Travelers hope that this time the journey to reach home on Holi will be easier and the journey will be smooth and safe.
