In the month of September last year itself, the vigilance took action in the district and arrested a bribe taking principal. Within five months, again on Thursday evening, the surveillance took action and arrested two officials for taking bribe.
Due to monitoring action, cases of corruption are being exposed again and again in the district. Even after this the corrupt officers and employees are not learning the lesson.
Special surveillance department team came from Patna
On Thursday, the Special Surveillance Department team from Patna arrested two officials of Land Conservation cum Project Implementation Unit Bhabua red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a farmer. In which the names of office assistant director Ravi Shankar Ram and engineering expert Anjani Kumar are included.
Umesh Kumar, son of Siddhanath Singh, resident of Gamhariyan village of Adhaura police station and Arvind Kumar, son of Rajeshwar Singh, resident of Kalhuan, had filed a complaint against them in the Special Monitoring Unit, Patna.
Demand for bribe of Rs 20 thousand
Both the above farmers have got boring done under the Prime Minister Agricultural Irrigation Scheme. In this, the Assistant Director and Engineering Expert had demanded a bribe of Rs 20 thousand for payment of the amount given to the farmers by the government.
Also threatened that if the amount is not received, the outstanding amount of the scheme will not be paid. Troubled farmers lodged a complaint with the Special Monitoring Department, Patna.
After verification of the complaint, Additional Director General of Police, Special Surveillance Unit, Pankaj Kumar formed a team under the leadership of DSP Chandrabhushan and Sanjay Kumar Verma to take action in this matter.
The team of the Special Monitoring Unit reached Bhabhua on Thursday and arrested the said officials of the Land Conservation cum Project Implementation Unit red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 20 thousand from the farmer.
Principal of Polytechnic College arrested
Last year, on September 18, the team of the Surveillance Department had arrested Dr. Ajay Kumar, Principal of the Government Polytechnic College located near Machhanhata village of Mohaniya police station area, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 60 thousand from a teacher.
They were taking 60 thousand rupees to pay the salary of a guest teacher of the college which was pending for six months. Earlier, on June 3 last year, the team of the surveillance department caught two sub-inspectors posted at Bhagwanpur police station, taking a bribe of Rs 40 thousand.
