Farzana alias Mahira Akhtar, daughter of Akhtar Ali, resident of Mohalla Atishbaz of Kotwali area of the city, married Sibgat Ali, resident of Pakistan, on 17 June 1979. After this she went to Pakistan and obtained citizenship there. There she gave birth to two daughters, Aalima and Furkana.
The husband divorced her after about three years of marriage. After this she returned to her maternal home with both her daughters. In 1983, the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) had filed a case under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act in the city police station against Farzana, who was living in India despite the expiry of her visa period.
On June 25, 1985, the CJM Court ordered him to remain present till the conclusion of the trial. Mahira Akhtar got the job of a teacher on 22 January 1992 by hiding the fact of her Pakistani citizenship. After this he was posted in Kumhariya Primary School of Saidnagar Block.
LIU had issued a notice to this Pakistani citizen living in Rampur asking her to extend the visa period. During this time, information was received that the woman is working as a teacher in the Basic Education Department. When LIU checked the records from the BSA office, it came to light that he was given the job in the year 1992.
LIU sent the report to higher officials. On this, this teacher Farzana, who was posted in Saidnagar block, was dismissed from there. On the instructions of the government, an FIR has now been registered against him in Azimnagar police station. The investigating officer said that the woman will be searched along with the investigation.
