Jagran correspondent, Nuh. The worker union of Haryana Transport Department held a one-day dharna and strike on Monday regarding their demands. Under the leadership of union president Haji Ansar and secretary Jaisingh Chauhan, the employees staged a protest in the workshop of the transport department and presented their demands to the government. On this occasion, the union leaders submitted a 17-point demand letter.
The head of the union said that the apprentice employees working in the workshop should be given gate pass, and the apprentice and skilled employees should be given salary on the 7th of the month. Apart from this, complete tool kits for repairing vehicles should be made available. There should be construction of resting place for employees and two bus shelters for greasing of buses. For maintenance of buses, tin sheets should be made on diesel pump machines. To deal with waterlogging in the workshop, a demand has been made to carry out soil filling work and to provide uniform and shoes to all the employees.
Apart from this, other demands of the employees were also made by the union. Union leaders said that the employees have been making their demands for a long time, but their demands are being ignored by the department.
The employees also threatened to intensify the agitation further if the demands of the department were not accepted. On this occasion, the employees raised slogans against the officials of the department and asked for early resolution of the 17-point demands.
