State Bureau, Lucknow. The Yogi government will present the supplementary budget for the year 2025-26 on Monday in the winter session of the Legislature. The estimated size of the supplementary budget is estimated to be around Rs 30 thousand crore.
In this, a glimpse of the preparations for the Panchayat elections to be held next year can be seen. Before presenting the supplementary budget in both the houses of the legislature, it will be approved in the cabinet meeting at Chief Minister's residence 5 Kalidas Marg on Monday at 9.30 am. Proposals for some bills are also expected to get green signal from the cabinet.
In the supplementary budget, huge amount of money can be given for the work of UPEDA expressway projects. The Public Works Department has also demanded about Rs 6000 crore for road projects.
The government can also provide funds in the supplementary budget for rural development, charitable work and development of tourist places. The Urban Development Department will provide greenery along the roads to prevent air pollution, the government can also provide funds for this. The Forest Department may get funds for the plantation campaign to be held next year.
There is also a possibility of getting funds for the schemes of Agriculture and Health Department through supplementary budget. The works of Jal Jeevan Mission are incomplete and the government can also provide funds to complete them. The basic budget for the current financial year is approximately Rs 8.08 lakh crore.
