There was a ruckus at Mango police station. (Awakening)
Jagran correspondent, Jamshedpur. Late Friday night, law and order broke down in the Mango police station complex of Jamshedpur, which is considered highly sensitive.
The old rivalry between the operators of Daya Nursing Home and Sims Nursing Home took a violent turn and youths from both the sides clashed inside the police station.
During this, the miscreants damaged the wireless set of the police station, tore government files and broke chairs. The limit was reached when the youth started scuffling with the policemen who came to intervene. The incident has created a stir in the police department.
The police station was converted into a cantonment.
At around 10.30 pm on Friday night, Mango police station looked like a battlefield. According to the information, there are frequent disputes between the operators of Daya Nursing Home and Sims Nursing Home. On Sunday too, there was a fight between the son of Mumtaz, the director of Daya Nursing Home, and Hanna of Sims Nursing Home.
Hanne along with his associates had reached the police station to lodge a complaint regarding this matter. The police were still listening to them when Mumtaz's son entered the police station with his army of supporters.
As soon as both the groups came face to face, abuses started and soon kicking and punching started outside the police station's room. The audacity of the youth was so much that they started throwing police station chairs at each other. Important police files and registers kept in the racks were scattered on the ground.
The number of policemen present in the police station at the time of the incident was much less than that of the miscreants. When the soldiers on duty tried to stop them, the youth got into a fight with them. According to eyewitnesses, the youth were trying to drag their opponents out of the police station by pushing the policemen.
This kind of hooliganism in front of uniformed police has put a question mark on the fear of law. Amidst the chaos, someone threw the police wireless set on the ground, due to which it got damaged.
police station converted into cantonment
As soon as information about the uproar in the police station was received, DSP Bhola Prasad Singh of Headquarters-1 reached the spot with heavy police force. The situation came under control only after his arrival.
The police immediately converted the police station premises into a cantonment. Till late night, police officers kept scanning the CCTV footage to identify those who damaged government property and attacked the police.
The area of Mango and Azadnagar is always on the police radar in terms of sensitivity. According to web sources and old records, in 2018 also local youths had entered and vandalized Azadnagar and Mango police stations.
Friday's incident has once again proved that the fear of police has vanished from the minds of anti-social elements in this area. The police is now preparing to take strict action in this matter so that in future no one can commit such acts inside the police station.
This matter is a mutual dispute between two nursing home operators of Mango. One party had come to the police station to complain about the fight that took place on Sunday, when the other party reached there and started fighting. During this period, government property and goods have been damaged in the police station premises, which is being assessed. On the basis of CCTV footage, the culprits will be identified and strict legal action will be taken against them.
