100 Students From Nepal Are Secretly Taking Religious Education In Madrassas In UP, Intelligence Agencies Alerted As Soon As The Information Was Received.

More than a hundred Nepalis are being given religious training secretly.

Skand Kumar Shukla, Basti. A major case of Nepali Muslim students taking religious education illegally in the major madrassas running in the district has come to light, which has created a stir among the security and intelligence agencies. According to the information, these students have been receiving religious education for a long time without any valid registration.

This entire matter was exposed during a special operation conducted on the instructions of the Home Ministry. According to sources, after a thorough investigation of C Form data to collect information about foreigners studying in major madrasas of the district, this case of more than a hundred Nepali students studying without registration in a major madrasa of the district has come to light.

Investigation has also revealed that Nepalis are staying and taking training in other madrassas. C Form is a mandatory document for foreigners coming to India, which is submitted to the local police/Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) by any institution or person providing accommodation to any foreign national.

Analysis of this data found that information of a large number of foreign students is not recorded in the C Form. The basis on which they entered India does not allow them to study in religious institutions.

Now the sword of action is also hanging against the management of those madrassas which have given shelter to hundreds of Nepali students and have not registered them ignoring the government rules. Security agencies are now also investigating whether there is any anti-national or any big security related conspiracy behind this illegal entry and study.

Serious violation of visa rules

Most of the foreign students had come to India under Tourist V or other categories, but were found to be engaged in religious studies, which is being considered a gross violation of Indian visa rules. For religious studies, it is mandatory to obtain a study visa, which also requires registration of the institution.

After getting information about this, police and intelligence agencies came into action. Now after identifying these students, notices can be issued to them and the process of deportation can be started for them.

A police officer, on the condition of anonymity, said that this was a lapse in terms of security. Strict instructions have been given for regular checking of registration and visa compliance of foreign students in district madrasas. This matter has come to light after investigation of C Farm. In future, strict action will be taken against the madrasa management violating the rules. This sensitive matter is related to internal security.

Just two months ago, a workshop was organized for all the managers of Madrasas in Varanasi regarding the study of foreign students, in which they were clearly told that if foreign students come to the Madrasa for religious education, then online registration should be done compulsorily on Form C. Also inform the department about this, if this is not found by the management then action will be taken against the madrassa. The issue of Nepalese students studying without registration has come to notice. Investigation is being done. -Priyanka Awasthi, Deputy Director, Minority Welfare, Basti.
