Palamu's pagoda is decorated like a bride
Communication Associate, Medininagar (Palamu). Preparations are going on in full swing in various Shivalayas of the district regarding Mahashivratri. Mahashivratri puja will be performed with devotion and enthusiasm on 15th February (Sunday). The preparations of the devotees for the puja have reached the final stage.
Various Shiva temples in the district including the city are being decorated in an attractive manner. The temples are being decorated with colorful lights and fringes, due to which the temple premises will be seen shining like a bride.
A large number of devotees are engaged in cleaning and decorating the temples. On the occasion of Mahashivratri, a procession of Lord Shiva will also be taken out from many Shiva temples in the city.

This procession will pass through various routes of the city and reach the temple premises again, where the marriage of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati will be solemnized with all rituals. Night vigil programs have also been organized by the puja committee in many temples, in which local and outside artists will present devotional programs.
On the day of Mahashivratri, devotees will offer milk, water, Belpatra, Bhang and Dhatura to Lord Bholenath in the morning. After this, many devotees will observe fast for the whole day and complete the rituals by eating fruits in the evening.
There has been an increase in activity in the markets regarding the puja. An increase is also being seen in the prices of puja materials and fruits.
Traditional fair will be held at many places
On the occasion of Mahashivratri, traditional fairs will be organized at many places in the district. Like every year, this time also a fair will be held in Jod, Singra Kala of Sadar block, Bhainsakhur temple in Jamune and Gandhipur of Chainpur block.
A huge crowd of devotees gather in the fair. Here the shops of traditional sweets and other goods of the village are decorated, which are the main attraction of the fair.
