Jagran correspondent, Siddharthnagar. The district administration has taken major action in the matter related to irregular allotment of residential lease. District Magistrate Shivasharanappa GN has canceled the residential leases given to 13 people in the village after a court hearing. Declaring the canceled land as abandoned, an order has been given to vest it in the ownership and custody of the State Government of Uttar Pradesh.

This order was passed in case number 1092/2023 under Section 66 of Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code 2006. The case was jointly investigated by Sub-Collector Dumariyaganj and Tehsildar. In the investigation report, it became clear that the plots on which residential leases were given in village Khareli-Kharaula of Dumariyaganj tehsil area were not in accordance with the nature of the land, public use and prescribed procedure.

According to the order, the 13 persons who were allotted residential lease include Jagram son of Baburam, Omprakash son of Baburam, Prahlad son of Jagram, Kamla wife of Gelhain, Manish son of Rajman, Patandin son of Jagram, Budhai son of Lautan, Heera son of Budhiram, Mantu son of Rajaram, Parameshwari wife Rajman, Ramkishan son of Chhathiram, Vimala wife of Ramprasad, Pancharam son of Tilakram. Investigation also revealed that at some places there were panchayat buildings, some roads and some public use related situations at the concerned ghats, yet residential leases were allotted.

The District Magistrate has said in his order that residential lease can be considered valid only if the category of the land is residential, the eligibility is fulfilled and the entire process is followed as per the rules. In these cases, serious flaws were found in the lease allotment process, due to which all the leases were declared invalid.

The DM has instructed Tehsildar Dumariyaganj to remove all entries related to canceled leases from the revenue records and register the land in the name of the state government. Along with this, the Sub-Collector has also been directed that if any kind of unauthorized occupation is found on the said land, then legal action should be taken against it as per rules and the land should be vacated. Administrative officials say that this action is an important step towards the security of government land and ensuring transparency in the revenue system. This has sent a clear message that residential leases that ignore the rules will not be valid under any circumstances.
