134 Days Of Hearing In Kushagra Murder Case, 14 Witnesses Presented With 650 Page Charge Sheet

Jagran correspondent, Kanpur. The Kushagra murder case was heard for 134 days. 14 witnesses were presented by the prosecution. 42 documents and 112 objects were presented in the court as evidence.

The police filed a 650-page charge sheet. The mother had identified the clothes. Rachita's scooter was also brought to the court. Ultimately all three accused were proved guilty.

District government advocate Dilip Awasthi and assistant government advocate Bhaskar Mishra said that cognizance of the incident was taken by the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (now Chief Judicial Magistrate) on January 29, 2024. The case went up for hearing in the Sessions Court on February 9, 2024.

Charges were framed against all three in the court on May 3, 2024. Among the 14 witnesses, statements of four members of the public, the plaintiff, Kushagra's mother and uncle were made. The in-charge of the Forensic Science Laboratory, two nodal officers of mobile companies and a doctor as well as policemen testified.

240 pages of cross-examination was presented. Plaintiff's advocate Kamlesh Pathak said that the High Court had ordered to expedite the hearing of the case. Therefore the court completed the trial quickly. This case was heard for 134 days. Now everyone is waiting for the court's decision on January 22.
