There is a possibility of fog or mist on the morning of 21 January.
Jagran correspondent, Noida. In the third week of January, both the weather and environment of Noida seem to be becoming a challenge for the common people. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 23 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 8 degrees Celsius. The wind speed was 6 kilometers per hour, while the humidity was recorded at 58 percent.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of fog or mist on the morning of January 21. There are chances of rain between January 22 and 25, due to which the temperature may drop by two degrees. The effect of fog may persist in the morning till January 26. However, amidst the expectation of change in the weather, air pollution remains the most serious matter of concern. On Tuesday, Noida's air quality index was recorded at 382, making it among the third most polluted cities in the country. Gurugram stood at the first place, where AQI was recorded at 394, while Ghaziabad stood at second place with 393.
The situation was even more worrying in different sectors of Noida. AQI was recorded at 393 in Sector-125, 392 in Sector-1 and 369 in Sector-62. The worst situation was in Sector-116, where AUI reached 398. The average AQI of Greater Noida was 375, but there too many areas were found to be highly polluted.
Knowledge Park Third recorded an AQI of 338, while Knowledge Park Five recorded an AQI of 412, proving to be the most polluted area in the entire region. According to experts, rainfall may temporarily reduce pollution, but due to fog and cold air the pollutants remain in the atmosphere for a long time.
In such a situation, children, elderly and respiratory patients have been advised to take special precautions. Despite the claims of pollution control by the administration, the ground situation is raising questions. The cold in Noida is now testing not only the weather but also the breath.
