134 Suspected Bank Accounts Embezzling Cyber Fraud Money Identified, Investigation Confirms 34 Mule Bank Accounts In 11 Banks

Samvad Sutra, Barabanki. 134 suspicious (Mule) bank accounts of cyber criminals have been identified, in which there are indications of cyber fraud money being transferred and withdrawn. Barabanki Cyber ​​Police will monitor the accounts based on the complaints received online on the National Cyber ​​Crime Reporting Portal. In which lakhs have come to light from many provinces.

Cyber ​​fraud complaints are registered from across the country on the National Cyber ​​Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP), preliminary investigation of which has revealed suspicious accounts which have been used by criminals to transact cyber fraud money.

Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya said that all these 134 accounts were investigated, out of which only 34 such accounts were found in which the receipt of cyber fraud money was confirmed. These include one account of Axis Bank, 11 of Punjab National Bank, eight of State Bank of India, two of Bank of India, one of Indian Bank, one of UCO Bank, one of HDFC Bank, three each of Federal and Bank of Maharashtra, one of IndusInd Bank and two of Union Bank of India. Preliminary investigation has confirmed transactions worth lakhs of rupees in these accounts.

What are mule (suspicious) accounts

Mules are bank accounts that cyber criminals use to deposit and withdraw fraudulent funds. These accounts are often opened to needy people by luring them with commission or by luring them with some government scheme, these accounts are opened with documents. Whose operation is done by cyber fraud itself.
