Digital Desk, New Delhi. In another incident of alleged killing of stray dogs in Telangana, 200 dogs were killed in Hanamkonda district. With this, the number of dogs killed in the state has increased to 1,100 since December 2025. This claim has been made by animal rights activists.

Animal welfare activist A. In the complaint lodged with the police on Monday, Gautam said that about a month ago, 200 stray dogs were killed by giving poisonous injections in Pathipaka village of Shyamapet mandal on the alleged orders of the Gram Panchayat Secretary.

Gautam, Cruelty Prevention Manager associated with Stray Animal Foundation of India (NGO), said that on receiving information in this regard, he along with other animal welfare activists visited the village and interrogated some villagers about the mass killing of stray dogs. Villagers informed about the alleged involvement of the Gram Panchayat Secretary.
