21 Crore Gol Market Museum Project Stuck Again Due To GRAP Ban, NDMC Extends Deadline Till May 2026

Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. Citing repeated restrictions on construction activities due to the coronavirus outbreak, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has extended the deadline for its Gol Market Museum. Now its work will be completed by May 2026.

Work started in October 2023

According to NDMC, 40 percent civil work has been completed. It is noteworthy that NDMC had started the work of renovating the more than 100 years old Gol Market in October 2023 to build a museum of women who have contributed to the progress of the country. It was earlier to be completed in October 2025. But due to various reasons it was moved to March 2026. Now it has been done till May 2026. Subway work is also being done in it. Where entry into the museum will be available through this. Where lift facility will also be available. Approval for its excavation also took time. So far 15 percent excavation has been completed. The estimated cost of this project is Rs 21.7 crore.
