Jagran correspondent, Meerut. A couple resident of Griham Colony, located at Bijli Bamba Bypass, were duped by cyber thugs into giving huge profits by working from home. Due to greed, the old man lost his entire life's earnings. Cyber thugs defrauded the couple of Rs 40.53 lakh in two months. A report has been lodged at the police station regarding cyber crime.
Gopi Krishna, resident of Gruham Colony, told that on 26 October 25, a woman named Anamika Singh called on her mobile through Telegraph app. They were offered to earn one thousand to 36 hundred rupees per day through work from home.
Gopi Krishna, along with his wife, created an account on a site and gave an ID. He worked on 27 October. In return, Rs 777 was transferred to his bank account. After this, ten thousand rupees were asked from him and transferred to an account. The next day Rs 15,634 was transferred to his account.
After this, ten thousand rupees were again deposited from him. Later, he was asked to deposit Rs 7558 by saying that he would increase the commission. On depositing the money, Rs 26767 was returned to the couple. Due to this, the couple got trapped in greed and fell into the trap of cyber thugs.
The thugs then asked them to deposit a huge amount. Due to greed, the couple took a loan from the bank and transferred Rs 40.53 lakh from 29 October 25 to 12 January 26. As soon as this amount was transferred to their account, the cyber thugs stopped sending the money back.
When Gopi Krishna called and asked for money, he was asked to deposit some money. On refusal the phone number was switched off. Cyber police station has registered a report and started investigation.
