The Directorate of Education is auditing the old schools of Delhi.
Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. The Delhi government is working on a plan to build about 50 new school buildings and prepare eight thousand additional classrooms in the capital in the academic session 2026-27. Its objective is to maintain the balance of students and classes in schools and to provide a better study environment to the children.
For this, the Directorate of Education is also conducting audit of old school buildings. In schools which are in bad condition or lack basic facilities, improvement work will be done on priority. District officials have been instructed to prepare a list of such schools.
101 ICT lab ready
The government has prepared 101 ICT labs with the help of Laadli Foundation, in which 20 computers have been installed in each lab. Apart from this, tenders for seven thousand smart blackboards have been completed. In the next four years, smart boards will be installed in 21 thousand classes from 9th to 12th. The company will be responsible for their maintenance for five years.
Seven thousand computers are being purchased for 175 ICT labs, which are expected to be supplied by March 31. The government aims to have an ICT lab in every government school in Delhi in the next three years. More than 100 digital libraries will also be started this year.
