Anil Thakur, Shimla. Himachal Teachers Transfer, There is going to be a big change in the education department as soon as the new academic session starts in Himachal Pradesh. Five thousand teachers will be transferred simultaneously in March. The movement for this has intensified at the departmental level. For the first time such a big change is taking place.
The Education Department is going to create a separate sub-cadre of teachers for schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). A selection examination will be conducted to join it.
Only those teachers who qualify this examination will be placed in the sub cadre. The Directorate of School Education has prepared this proposal and sent it to the government for approval. The final decision on this will be taken in the cabinet meeting.
Three options for sub cadre
Three options have been kept for sub cadre. The first selection is through examination, through which good teachers can be selected. The second is to keep those teachers in the sub cadre who are already teaching in CBSE affiliated schools. The third option is for new recruitment. The cabinet will take the final decision on this.
then you will have to withdraw from school
Teachers have been working in schools in the city and surrounding areas for a long time. Most of these schools have been affiliated to CBSE. Teachers will have to appear for examination to join sub cadre. If they do not appear in the examination or do not want to join the sub cadre, they will have to withdraw from their school. Most of the teachers in these schools are those who have political and administrative access.
There will be big upheaval in the education department
The Education Department has imposed a ban on transfers and retirements in the middle of the session. This ban will also be lifted in March. The ban on general transfers will also end, due to which there will be rapid transfers. This can cause great turmoil in the department. Preparations for this have been started at the departmental level. Complete lists are being updated to see where the posts are vacant and where promotions and retirements are going to take place.
87 schools got CBSE affiliation
There are preparations to get affiliation from CBSE to 100 CBSE schools in Himachal. So far 87 schools have got affiliation. Recently, Secretary Education Rakesh Kanwar had held a meeting with the officials of the department, in which the sub-cadre of teachers was discussed. It has been decided in the meeting that the examination will be held in February 2026. Principals, teachers and non-teaching staff will be selected through the examination conducted through the School Education Board, Dharamshala. Academic excellence and contribution in co-curricular activities will also be made the basis of selection.
