Jagran correspondent, Kanpur Dehat. 92 couples from Rasulabad and Jhinjhak blocks held hands in a mass marriage program on Sunday. The rituals were completed as per the rituals in the program organized at Galaxy Garden Asalatganj. The block chief representative blessed the auspicious life of the bride and groom.
Under the Chief Minister's Mass Marriage Scheme, a program was organized at the guest house in Asalatganj on Sunday under the direction of DM Kapil Singh. In this, 92 couples from Rasulabad and Jhinjhak blocks held hands while chanting Vedic mantras.
In this, 73 couples were from Scheduled Caste and 14 couples were from Other Backward Class. Two couples from general category and three from minority category participated. In the program, block chief representative Krishna Kumar Chunni Dubey and MLA representative blessed the bride and groom.
In the programme, an amount of Rs 60,000 was spent on the girl's account, Rs 25,000 on materials and Rs 15,000 on food arrangements. On this occasion, ADM Finance and Revenue Dushyant Kumar Maurya, SDM Sarvesh Kumar were present.
