Pratyush Pratap Singh, Patna. An extraordinary scene of judicial proceedings was seen in the Patna High Court when a single bench of Justice RP Mishra heard and disposed of 510 regular bail cases related to the Excise and Liquor Prohibition Act.
This action remained a topic of discussion not only in terms of numbers but also because of its unprecedented speed. Judge Mishra disposed of almost every case in an average of 30 seconds.
This process of hearing and passing orders in such a short period is being seen as an example in the judicial history of Patna High Court.
More than 90 percent cases accepted
It is noteworthy that the single bench approved more than 90 percent of the bail cases. This scene was surprising as well as a relief for the lawyers and plaintiffs.
Most of the cases in bail petitions were related to the liquor prohibition law implemented in Bihar, in which were waiting for hearing for a long time.
The court conducted a brief but precise hearing and gave its verdict keeping in mind the nature of the cases, allegations and previous orders.
Advocates say that such speedy trial is a great example of speedy delivery of justice. Many advocates and their clients called this a positive thinking of the judiciary.
Said that this will not only reduce the burden of pending cases on the courts, but will also strengthen the confidence of the common people in the justice system.
This working style of Judge RP Mishra is being considered an important step towards quick, effective and practical justice, which will be remembered for a long time.
