Digital Desk, Indore. In Indore, cyber thugs took the help of relationships and targeted an 82-year-old man and cheated him online to the tune of Rs 1 lakh 83 thousand. On the complaint of Jaswant Kumar Gumber, resident of Kanchan Bagh Colony of Tukoganj police station area, the police have registered a case of fraud and started investigation.

Victim Jaswant Kumar Gumber has a tube manufacturing factory in Pithampur. According to the police, on November 24, he received a call in which the caller introduced himself as his brother-in-law Pintu, who lives in Australia. The caller stated the need for immediate money for work related to passport and visa and asked the agent to make the payment.

Second call came posing as an agent

After some time another person called claiming to be an agent. After gaining confidence, the old man transferred Rs 1.83 lakh online to the mentioned account. Later, when he called his brother-in-law Pintu, the shocking truth came to light – Pintu had neither made any call nor demanded money.

Complaint in cyber cell

As soon as he realized the fraud, the old man lodged a complaint with the Cyber ​​Cell, Bhopal. Cyber ​​cell registered the case at zero and sent the case diary to Indore. On the basis of this, a case of fraud has been registered in Tukoganj police station.

Appeal to be cautious

The police are now investigating the entire matter and efforts are being made to identify the accused. Also, an appeal has been made to the citizens not to immediately trust any call coming from abroad or in the voice of an acquaintance and to confirm directly with the person concerned before transacting money.
