Jagran correspondent, Hamirpur. A farmer was brutally murdered in Kusmara village of Kurara area of ​​Hamirpur. He was hit with a bat and then killed by running a tractor over his head. Now in this case, on Tuesday, Special Judge Robbery Court Anil Kumar Kharwar convicted six people including the accused father and sons. The court has sentenced all the accused to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000 each.

District government advocate Manikarn Shukla said that Ramraj, son of Man Singh, resident of Dimunha village, filed a complaint in Kurara police station and said that on August 24, 2023, his father Man Singh had gone to Kusmara village to get wheat grinded from home. While returning from there in the afternoon, due to land feud, Kariya alias Dhaniram alias Lala Yadav of the village, his sons Kaptan Yadav and Bhup Singh Yadav, along with Juggi alias Kaushalendra, Upadesh alias Bade and Tirra Yadav of the village, murdered their father on the way. On which the police station had registered a case against half a dozen murder accused including father and sons.

After investigation, the police filed the charge sheet against everyone in the court. He was convicted in the said case recently and the hearing on the point of punishment was held on Tuesday. In the said case, Special Judge, Robbery Court, Anil Kumar Kharwar, while hearing the point of punishment, sentenced the accused father Kariya alias Dhaniram alias Lala Yadav, his son Captain Yadav, Bhup Singh Yadav, Juggi alias Kaushalendra, Upadesh alias Bade and Tirra Yadav of the same village to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5 thousand each.

Attacked with a bat, killed by running a tractor on his head

75-year-old Man Singh, resident of Siddha Baba Dera of Dimuha village of Kurara police station area, had gone to grind wheat at the mill located in Kusmara village on Thursday, August 24, 2023. Then, over a land dispute, village Kariya alias Dhaniram alias Lala Yadav, his sons Kaptan Yadav, Bhup Singh, Juggi alias Kaushalendra, Upadesh and Tirra Yadav first hit him with a wooden bat and injured him. After falling, a tractor ran over his head and killed him. The relatives, who reached the spot after receiving the information, had accused him of murder due to land rivalry. The accused had attempted to cause an accident by murder, about two km away from the village on the Kusmara link road.

SP reached the incident site with dog squad

On receiving information about the murder, SP Dr. Deeksha Sharma, ASP Mayaram Verma, CO Sadar Rajesh Kamal along with the dog squad and forensic team inspected the spot. SP said that prima facie it appeared to be murder. Where during investigation the police found a blood stained stick near the spot. Blood was also found lying around. Looking at the dead body it appeared to be murder.

Women did not testify due to fear

During the murder of the farmer, some women were cutting fodder in the field. Those who saw the incident could not say anything due to fear. Told that a person from the village has carried out the incident using a tractor. Man Singh was having a land dispute with him.

The deceased farmer lived with his family in his maternal home.

Maan Singh used to do farming living alone with his wife in his maternal home Dimuha village. After the death of his father, he came to his maternal home with his mother. After this the mother had purchased five bighas of land here. Later Man Singh got the lease of 14 bighas. Later, five bighas of land was purchased from my maternal uncle's daughter.

Due to this reason there was a land dispute

Maan Singh's mother had purchased five bighas of land in his maternal home. After that, Man Singh got the lease of 14 bighas in Nanihal in the year 1962. The accused people were in possession of it. Later, five bighas of land was purchased from my maternal uncle's daughter. Litigation continued on this issue between both sides. After going to the High Court, the file has returned to the Consolidation Department of the district. This is under consideration. According to Man Singh's relatives, the case was also fixed for August 26. Even before this, the accused had committed the incident by murder.

Elder son had died before due to illness

Man Singh's elder son Devraj had died a long time ago due to illness. One son Ramraj lives in his native village Taharapur Musanagar and does farming. A few days ago, Ramraj's daughter Khushboo had come to Baba and Grandmother's place. Who was in the village at the time of the murder.
