Baan Devta temple burnt to ashes in Malkhun village of Rohru

Samvad Sutra, Jagran, Shimla. There has been news of arson in the centuries old temple of Baan Devta in Rohru subdivision of Shimla. According to the information, a massive fire broke out in the temple of Baan Devta located in village Malkhun of Gram Panchayat Bashla, due to which the temple was completely burnt and destroyed.

The forest fire reached the temple

This incident happened around 5 pm on Thursday evening. It is being told that the fire first broke out in the forest on Wednesday night, which was extinguished in time by the villagers. But on Thursday morning the forest fire ignited again and within no time it engulfed the temple.

People failed to control the fire

According to the police, a person from the village saw flames and smoke coming out of the temple in the morning. After this, he immediately informed the people of Malkhun village, police and fire station Rohru about the incident over phone. As soon as the information was received, the villagers reached the spot and efforts to extinguish the fire were started.

The villagers tried their best to control the fire, but by then the fire had surrounded the temple from all sides. Fire brigade vehicle from Rohru fire station also reached the spot on time, but due to the intensity of fire, the temple could not be saved.

Investigation into the cause of the fire begins

Happy Vanit Mehta, a resident of Bashala village, said that in this horrific fire, the temple of Baan Devta was completely burnt to ashes. As soon as information about the incident was received, the villagers started extinguishing the fire, but due to the seriousness of the situation, emergency services and administration had to be immediately informed. It is fortunate that there was no loss of life in this fire.

Police reached the spot, took stock of the situation and started investigating the cause of the fire.
