The accident that happened late at night created panic among the people nearby. Meanwhile, two youths in the car escaped, while one youth was caught by the nearby people and handed over to the police.
Police station in-charge Kapil Dev said that the speeding I-20 car went out of control on the station road in Khalasi Line Chowki area around 11 pm on Wednesday night due to the driver taking a nap. The speeding car broke the iron staircase near the road and entered the shop in front.
During this time, the shopkeeper who was leaving after closing his shop narrowly escaped being hit by a car. People nearby pulled the driver out. People nearby told that there were three youths in the car, out of which two youths ran away as soon as the accident happened.
People caught a young man in the car and after giving information on dial 112, he handed him over to the police. He was identified as Sagar Kumar resident of Chhidbana.
The station in-charge said that the young man in the car was injured. He was given treatment. The police did not receive any complaint in the matter. On Thursday morning, a decision was reached between the relatives of the victim shopkeeper and the youth traveling in the car.

On the other hand, Sunny, a youth resident of village Dangheda, was beaten up and injured. In this regard, the victim has filed a complaint in the police station demanding action. Police say that the matter is being investigated and necessary legal action will be taken.
