Digital Desk, New Delhi. Delhi Weather Today: People of Delhi-NCR woke up with light drizzle and strong winds on Friday morning. It is still raining in many areas and there are dark clouds in the sky.
At the same time, due to strong winds along with rain, the temperature has once again dropped. Because for the last two days, there was some heat in the cities of NCR including Delhi, due to which the maximum temperature reached 24 degrees.
Warning for the next two-three hours
Thunderstorm with strong winds (40-60 kmph) and light rain (5-15 mm/h) is likely in many districts of Delhi. Alert of strong winds has been issued in Delhi's Central Delhi, East Delhi, New Delhi, North Delhi, North East Delhi, North West Delhi, Shahdara, South Delhi, South East Delhi, South West Delhi, West Delhi.
Air quality is still very bad
Even though the people of Delhi-NCR have got relief from fog today, the air quality still remains very poor. Even this morning the average AQI of Delhi has been recorded above 300. Due to continuously deteriorating air quality, people of NCR are facing difficulty in breathing. In such a situation, children, elderly and respiratory patients are facing more problems.
Today on Friday (January 23, 2026), there was light drizzle along with strong winds in the early morning in many areas of Delhi-NCR, due to which a drop in temperature was recorded. Even though there is relief from fog in NCR cities including Delhi today, the air quality still remains poor. Today the average AQI of Delhi has been recorded above 300, which falls in the very poor category.
What was the AQI in Delhi-NCR today?
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Anand Vihar's AQI was recorded at 325 this morning. 346 AQI has been recorded in Bawana, 227 in IGI Airport, 342 in Jahangirpuri, 272 in Ghaziabad adjacent to Delhi and 324 in Noida. At the same time, 343 AQI has been recorded in Gurugram, Haryana.

According to the Meteorological Department, it will rain intermittently throughout the day today. There will be high and moderate clouds throughout the day, due to which sunshine will be limited. The next spell of rain is likely to come only after Republic Day.
