Bike riding youth dies after collision with recovery van on National Highway in Kurukshetra (File Photo)
Jagran correspondent, Kurukshetra. A youth riding a motorcycle died in a road accident on National Highway-44 in Shahabad on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Vinod Kumar, resident of Sabga village in Ambala district.
It is being told that a recovery van moving ahead suddenly made a cut, due to which the motorcycle collided with its rear side. After the accident the van driver fled from the spot. Police have registered the case and started investigation. The body was handed over to the relatives after post-mortem on Wednesday.
Vinod's father Tarsem told in his statement to the police that Vinod had a salon in the nearby village Subhari and he was the only brother of two sisters. Since the shop was closed on Tuesday, Vinod had gone to Kurukshetra on a motorcycle to buy goods. A recovery van running ahead of him on National Highway-44 suddenly cut him off.
Due to this the motorcycle hit the rear side of the van and Vinod fell on the road. Vinod was admitted to a private hospital in Shahabad, where he died after midnight on Tuesday during treatment. Due to the death of the only son, a mountain of sorrow has fallen on the family and there is mourning in the house.
Shahabad police station has registered a case against the accused driver on the basis of the statement of the deceased's father and started investigation. The body was handed over to the relatives after post-mortem on Wednesday.
