JNN, Baloda. The 18-year-old son of operator Ramesh Dewangan was burnt alive in a fire at Raju Electronics at Baloda district headquarters in Chhattisgarh. The severity of the fire can be gauged from the fact that it took six hours for the force of NTPC CISF fire station along with additional fire tenders from NTPC Sipat, KSK Akaltara and Madwa plants to control the fire. There is a possibility of fire due to short circuit.

There was an electronics shop on the ground floor of Ramesh Dewangan's three-storey house. On Thursday, Ramesh was in the shop with his two sons. At around 2 o'clock in the afternoon, smoke started coming out from inside the shop and within a few moments the fire took a huge form.

As soon as the fire broke out, the TV, fridge, washing machine, cooler, fan and other expensive electronic equipment kept in the shop started burning rapidly. The lack of skylights and ventilation further worsened the situation.

When the fire could not be controlled even after four hours, station in-charge Manohar Sinha ordered demolition of three different parts of the house. With the help of JCB and other resources, the walls of the building were broken so that water and foam could be supplied inside. After this, there was some success in controlling the fire. Meanwhile, other members of the family somehow came out through the terrace.
